Dr Rasoul Amel-Kashipaz MD, PhD, FRCPath is Consultant Haematopathologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Amel-Kashipaz obtained his primary medical degree from Birjand University of Medical Sciences, Iran in 1997.
He has completed his PhD in Immunopathology working on pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematous on 2003 at Nottingham University, followed by 2 years post-doctoral research flow, investigating TRAPS (TNF Receptor Associated Periodic Syndrome) disease.
He joined West Midland Histopathology Training Programme in 2005, achieving Fellowship of Royal college of Pathologist (FRCpath) in 2010. He was appointed Consultant Histopathologist with an interest in Haematopathology in 2010 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
He is involved in training and education of undergraduate medical student, Histopathologists registrar and MSc students in Haemato-oncology field. His research collaborations mostly involve the role of EBV in Head and Neck cancer and pathogenesis of haematological malignancy.
He is a member of the British Lymphoma Pathology Group, British Skin Lymphoma Pathology group and Pathology Society of Great Britain & Ireland.
