Elisa Follen began her nurse training at The University of East Anglia, and completed her training in Wolverhampton.
She started her career as a staff nurse on a Haematology unit caring for all haematological conditions both malignant and non-malignant.
Her career progressed and she was appointed as the Haematology sister on a daycase unit at Russells Hall Hospital.
Elisa was the lead for autologous stem cell collection as well as treating both oncology and haematology patients with chemotherapy and supportive therapies.
In 2009 she moved on to work for Bupa Home Healthcare and was instrumental in setting up the new community chemotherapy services, where she managed the Midlands, Wales and Southwest teams treating both private individuals and a NHS Herceptin contract.
Elisa joined BMI The Priory Hospital as Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse in February 2013. Her role includes the overall management of the haematology and oncology services and is supported by a team of specialist and chemotherapy nurses.
A vital part of this role is education and she is passionate to ensure that the team continue to provide the highest standards of care.
